PE Shipping Guide

20ft FCL Shipping Guide for PE Resin

Plan a 20-foot full-container PE resin shipment by actual packing, bag count, weight limits, destination requirements and trade term.

Why PE Resin Is Commonly Planned in a 20-Foot Full Container

Bagged polyethylene resin is relatively heavy compared with the space it occupies. A 20-foot full container is therefore a common planning basis for HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE exports. A 40-foot container provides more volume, but the permitted cargo weight does not necessarily increase in the same proportion.

Jiuting Polymers normally coordinates PE resin shipments in 20-foot full containers from Dalian Port. The final container plan must still be checked against the exact material, packing, carrier, road, port and destination requirements.

Standard Working Conditions

  • Standard packing: 25 kg bags or agreed packing
  • Container option: 20-foot full container load
  • Origin port: Dalian Port, China
  • Trade terms: FOB, CFR or CIF
  • Documents: TDS, COA and MSDS when available for the exact grade

Why We Do Not Publish One Fixed Loading Weight

The loading quantity can change because of bag dimensions, resin bulk density, pallet use, container tare weight, carrier limits, road weight restrictions, port rules and destination regulations. A theoretical calculation is not a booking or loading guarantee.

The quotation and shipping plan should state the expected bag count, net weight and gross weight for the actual shipment. These figures must be rechecked before loading.

Palletized or Floor-Loaded Bags?

Floor Loading

Floor loading can use container space efficiently, but the buyer must confirm whether manual unloading is acceptable and whether the destination warehouse can handle loose bags safely.

Palletized Loading

Pallets can simplify handling and warehouse operations, but they add weight and occupy space. Pallet material, dimensions, treatment requirements and wrapping must be agreed before quotation.

Information Needed Before Container Planning

  • Exact producer and complete grade
  • Bag weight and bag dimensions
  • Total order quantity
  • Pallet or non-pallet requirement
  • Container-liner or moisture-protection requirement
  • Destination port and country
  • Carrier or buyer-nominated forwarding requirement
  • Destination road or container-weight restrictions known to the buyer
  • FOB, CFR or CIF term

Container and Cargo Checks

Before loading, the responsible parties should confirm container condition, cleanliness, dryness, floor condition and absence of strong odor or contamination. Bag damage, moisture risk and cargo movement should be considered during the loading plan. Container number, seal number, bag count, net weight and gross weight should be recorded for the shipping documents.

Typical Shipping Documents

  • Commercial invoice
  • Packing list with bag count and weight
  • Bill of lading instructions
  • Actual batch or shipment COA when available
  • Producer TDS and current MSDS when available
  • Certificate of origin or other agreed destination documents

Documentation should be agreed before order confirmation. A producer TDS or sample COA does not automatically prove that the actual shipment has been manufactured or loaded.

FOB, CFR and CIF Planning

For FOB, the buyer normally provides the nominated shipping arrangement and instructions. For CFR or CIF, the exact destination port is required so that current freight and routing can be checked. CIF also requires agreement on the insurance basis. Freight and sailing schedules may change and must be reconfirmed at quotation or booking time.

20-Foot FCL Planning Checklist

  1. Confirm the exact resin and documents.
  2. Confirm bag, pallet and protection requirements.
  3. Calculate the expected bag count, net weight and gross weight.
  4. Check carrier, road, port and destination restrictions.
  5. Confirm trade term, freight arrangement and shipping instructions.
  6. Recheck the final loading plan before cargo is stuffed.
