LLDPE Application Guide

LLDPE Blown Film Resin Sourcing

Compare China-origin LLDPE blown-film options against the current grade, film structure, blend, line conditions and finished-film targets.

LLDPE Blown Film Resin Should Be Selected Around the Film Structure

LLDPE blown-film performance depends on the resin family, comonomer, molecular structure, additive package, blend and extrusion conditions. Similar MFI and density values do not guarantee the same bubble stability, seal window, dart impact, tear balance or downgauging performance.

Jiuting Polymers is a polymer supply and export coordination company based in Dalian, China. We help buyers compare China-origin LLDPE options against the current producer grade, TDS, film line and finished-film requirements. We do not promote one universal grade for every bag, liner or packaging structure.

Typical Applications

  • General packaging bags
  • Garbage bags and industrial liners
  • Heavy-duty transport and protective film
  • Coextruded packaging structures
  • LDPE/LLDPE blends for processing and toughness balance

Standard, Hexene, Octene and Metallocene LLDPE

Butene, hexene, octene and metallocene materials can provide different processing and mechanical-property balances. The correct choice depends on film thickness, line design, blend ratio, seal requirement, toughness target and cost position. A higher-performance resin may not be the most practical choice if the existing line cannot process it consistently or if the finished film does not need that performance.

Key Selection Factors

Film Line and Bubble Stability

Provide the die size, number of layers, blow-up ratio, output, film width and cooling configuration. State whether the resin is run alone or blended with LDPE, HDPE, recycled material or another LLDPE. Processing behavior must be reviewed under the actual blend and line conditions.

MFI, Density and Test Conditions

MFI or MFR must include the test temperature and load. Density should be compared using the same test basis. These values are useful screening parameters, but they do not describe the complete molecular structure or additive package.

Mechanical Targets

State the required dart impact, tensile strength, elongation, Elmendorf tear, puncture and low-temperature performance. The most important direction and test method should be identified, because a film can have different machine-direction and transverse-direction behavior.

Sealing and Packaging Speed

Provide the seal-initiation temperature, useful seal window, hot-tack requirement and packaging-line speed where applicable. A resin that improves toughness may still be unsuitable if it narrows the required sealing range or changes film handling.

Optics, Additives and Conversion

Confirm clarity, haze and gloss targets, plus slip, antiblock, processing aid, antistatic, UV or other additives. State whether the film will be printed, laminated, perforated or converted into bags. Additives can affect winding, opening, printing and downstream handling.

Information Needed for a Useful Comparison

  • Current producer and complete grade, or current TDS
  • Film application, structure and layer function
  • Monolayer or coextrusion line information
  • Film thickness, width, blow-up ratio and output
  • Current blend and recycled-content policy
  • MFI/MFR and density with test conditions
  • Dart, tear, tensile, puncture and sealing targets
  • Optical, additive, printing and compliance requirements
  • Monthly quantity, destination port and FOB, CFR or CIF preference

Our Sourcing Process

  1. Review the current grade, TDS, blend and finished-film specification.
  2. Identify the process and performance requirements that cannot change.
  3. Check relevant China-origin producer and grade options available at inquiry time.
  4. Coordinate available TDS, COA and MSDS information for the selected option.
  5. Support the document comparison while the buyer completes its own extrusion trial and approval.

Standard packing is 25 kg bags or agreed packing. Export coordination is normally arranged in 20-foot full containers from Dalian Port under FOB, CFR or CIF terms. Final availability, documents and loading quantity are confirmed for the exact grade and shipment.
